XGS Gen.1 to Gen.2 desktop lifecycle process
To ensure a seamless transition from our XGS Gen.1 to Gen.2 desktop models, we are closely monitoring the remaining Gen.1 desktop inventory to make announcements at the appropriate time and to give you some advance notice before a product stocks out. Unexpected orders can impact our ability to provide that advance notice.
IMPORTANT NOTE
These lifecycle announcements are relevant for our XGS Gen.1 desktop models only. There are no short-term or mid-term plans to make any changes or announcements for our XGS 1U and 2U appliance portfolio.
End of Sale Announcements
We are starting the end-of-sale process for some XGS Gen.1 desktop models and are making the end-of-sale announcement for the following models:

What do these announcements mean for you?
If an end-of-sale announcement has been made for a specific model in your region, please stop generating new quotes, as all remaining stock will be required to fulfill existing opportunities.
Due to the nature of hardware sales, a model may sell out very quickly after the end-of-sale announcement.
Model-by-model end-of-sale announcements
The end-of-sale announcements may differ between GLOBAL (excl. India) and INDIA for any individual model. This is due to supply chain restrictions for stock already in India. For all other locations, we are sometimes able to transfer stock between warehouses.
Single End-of-Life Date
Please note that the September 30, 2030, end-of-life date will eventually apply to all XGS Gen.1 desktop models. This date has been selected to accommodate the sellout of all Gen.1 desktop models and ensure that all customers benefit from a minimum 5-year post-EOS support phase as per our lifecycle policy.

For all inventory queries, please contact your local Sophos distributor.
What announcements do we plan to make?
For each Gen.1 desktop model, there will be the following lifecycle status changes:
- Limited availability
This indicates that the model is still available to order but that quantities are only expected to last for a limited time. - End of sale announcement
This is when the remaining inventory is at such a level that a stockout is likely within weeks (based on the standard run-rate for the product).

- An official EOS announcement will be published for that individual model via the Partner News blog
- The information will be updated on the new Partner Portal page
It is not possible to send email announcements for each lifecycle change that we plan to make over the coming weeks and months. At this stage, we do not plan to send any announcements directly to customers.
