Sophos Firewall: New hardware | New software | New ways to win
October marked the culmination of a tremendous hardware and software development program with the launch of our new XGS desktop firewalls and the latest version of our firewall software, SFOS v21.
- XGS Series appliances unlock best-in-class performance, power efficiency, and price per protected megabit per second (PPPMbps), delivering unbeatable value for SMB and branch office environments
- Sophos Firewall OS v21 is packed with new features, including support for third-party threat feeds and Let’s Encrypt certificate support – a top customer-requested capability

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Migrate XG Series Customers to XGS Hardware
The Sophos XG Series firewall appliances will be end-of-life on March 31, 2025. With the launch of our new XGS Series desktop hardware and Sophos Firewall v21, there’s never been a better time to migrate onto the best network protection.
For a smooth transition, from November 07, 2024, we’ll introduce overlapping licenses specifically for early renewals from XG to XGS. This will allow customers to seamlessly operate both their XG and the new XGS appliances in parallel until the original XG license expires, all at no additional cost.

Sophos XDR: Gen AI Search and enhancements to Cases API
We continue to expand the powerful generative AI capabilities in Sophos XDR that empower analysts to stop more threats, faster. In October we released AI Search which enables analysts to use “normal” English in their database queries, speeding up investigations and making security operations more accessible. Learn more.
And that’s not all for Sophos XDR! We’ve also released an updated Cases Public API that enables you and your customers to use your preferred tools to manage cases. Plus, the pivot menu has new hostname actions and updated queries to enhance the investigation process and improve response times. Learn more
Sophos MDR: New service insights widgets
The MDR dashboard in Sophos Central enables customers to see the huge amount of work that the Sophos team does behind the scenes to protect their organization. In October we added in two new displays – detection engineering effort and peer-to-peer account health score comparison – that further extend customer visibility into their 24/7 service coverage.
Sophos Central: Exportable PDF dashboard reports
Sophos Central dashboards enable partners and customers to see all the key information for their environments on a single page. Our new PDF export capability enables users to quickly create PDFs of their custom and Sophos pre-defined product dashboards (including the MDR dashboard), facilitating cross-business communication. Operating system support
The engineering teams have been busy extending support to the latest Apple and Android OS versions:
- Sophos Endpoint now supports macOS 15 Sequoia. Info
- Sophos Mobile now supports iOS 18 and Android 15. Info
Sophos MSP: A host of PSA integration enhancements
To support our fast=-growing MSP program, we’ve released enhancements for all MSP integrations, including:
- Ticketing Integration – ConnectWise PSA and Autotask
- Usage Integration – ConnectWise PSA and Autotask
- ConnectWise Automate and Kaseya VSA plugins
Sophos Central: Regional data center expansion
We continue to expand Sophos Central data center availability, helping you win business with organizations that prefer to have their data stored within their own region. Sophos Switch is now available in all regions and ZTNA, AP6 and DNS will follow shortly.
