Can I sell Central Endpoint Protection/Central Server Protection to new customers after July 1, 2021?
New customers must purchase Intercept X Essentials/Intercept X Essentials for Server or higher as of July 1, 2021.
Can existing customers of Central Endpoint Protection/Central Server Protection renew after July 1?
Existing term and MSP Flex customers will be migrated to another license in the second half of 2021 (targeting September/October). Details are below.
Renewals will be possible until the completion of the license migration in the second half of 2021 (targeting September/October).
After the license migration is complete, these SKU’s will no longer be active.
What are the licensing migration details for existing customers using Central Endpoint Protection/Central Server Protection?
Term customers will have their license upgraded to Intercept X Advanced/Intercept X Advanced for Server for the remainder of their term. At the end of the term, they have the option to pay for Intercept X Advanced/Intercept X Advanced for Server, or higher. Alternatively, they can choose to move down to Intercept X Essentials/Intercept X Essentials for Server with the subsequent reduction in functionality.
MSP Flex customers (monthly billing) will still be invoiced through the migration date in CYH2, 2021 (targeting September/October) at which point we will migrate Central Endpoint Protection/Central Server Protection licenses to Intercept X Essentials/Intercept X Essentials for Server without any manual intervention.
Customers migrated to Intercept X Essentials/Intercept X Essentials for Server will gain access to powerful protection features that are essential to stop modern threats including – deep learning AI, anti-ransomware and anti-exploit capabilities. They will no longer have access to – multiple policies, peripheral control, controlled updates, web control, app control, threat cases, and File Integrity Monitoring (FIM). If a customer requires these features they should upgrade to Intercept X Advanced/Intercept X Advanced for Server or higher.

The license migration will be done automatically, without interaction from Partners or Customers.
Sophos strongly recommends that customers and partners deploy and enable the latest protection features of Intercept X Advanced/Intercept X Advanced for Server and Intercept X Essentials/Intercept X Essentials for Server as soon as possible. They will benefit from the protection capabilities such as anti-ransomware and deep learning AI that are not present in Central Endpoint Protection/Central Server Protection.
