New Innovations in Sophos Endpoint Security

We are passionate about protecting our users and delivering the very best products for our partners to resell. Recent enhancements that help customers stay ahead of today’s well-funded, constantly innovating adversaries and streamline day-to-day endpoint security management include Adaptive Active Adversary Protection, Account Health Check, enhanced software management options, malware protection enhancements for Linux, faster, lightweight agent, built-in ZTNA agent (on Windows and macOS devices). Sophos Firewall: XGS Series

Last month, we announced some exciting new hardware products to expand the total addressable market and extend connectivity options:

 

Sophos Firewalls v19.5 MR1

We’re offering a free upgrade of Sophos Firewall OS v19.5 MR1 to all Sophos Firewall customers including Xstream SD-WAN enhancements, improved backup management, firmware upgrades, support for new hardware, and more. Learn more about what’s new and how to upgrade.

 

Sophos Email Enhancements

Our Sophos Email customers have been loving the combination of top-notch protection, easy-to-use admin, and Sophos Central management. But we’re not resting on our laurels. Our team is constantly working to stay ahead of cyber threats and make sure Sophos Email provides the best possible protection. Check out our newly- created TechVids for a rundown of all the benefits and step-by-step instructions.

  • Aggressive Mode for Anti-Spam allows customers to configure distinct spam catch rate levels for different external senders/domains and internal users, groups, and domains.
  • Secure Message Policy combines all encryption/decryption and signing/verification capabilities under a single policy. It delivers more granular control and allows for a Portal Encryption license assignment.

Sophos UTM and SG Series Hardware

We recently announced the lifecycle milestones for Sophos UTM and the SG Series. Sophos UTM on AWS is explicitly excluded from the end-of-sale announcement.

The key dates for your lifecycle/migration planning are:

  • End-of-sale: June 30, 2023
    • This date applies to new subscriptions of any term (except for AWS) and 3-year renewal subscriptions only.
    • SG Series hardware appliances will continue to be sold for as long as stock lasts.
  • Final Renewal: June 30, 2025
  • End-of-Life: June 30, 2026

Customers who would like to continue to use Sophos UTM until the EOL date should ensure that they purchase their renewal as long as the required subscription is still available. Subscription terms must not extend beyond the EOL date (June 30, 2026).

We have published a number of resources for both partners and customers which include all future lifecycle milestones:

 

Sophos Firewall OS v18.5

As per our lifecycle policy, SFOS v18.5 will reach its EOL date as detailed below:

  • EOL date: June 30, 2023
  • Supported versions from July 1, 2023
    • v19.5
    • v19
    • v18.5 FIPS mode only

Please work with your customers to plan their upgrade to a supported version before the EOL date.

 

XG Series: 2-year subscriptions and accessories

The last order date for 2-year subscriptions for XG Series hardware models is March 31, 2023. This will also be the final order date for all XG-specific accessories.

  • Last order date 2Y subscriptions: March 31, 2023
  • Last order date for XG-specific accessories: March 31, 2023
  • Final renewal (final order date for 1Y subscriptions): March 31, 2024
  • EOL: March 31, 2025

Note: XG 85/105 models are already EOL.

 

RED 15, 15w, 50

The following RED models will reach their End-of-Life date on August 31, 2023:

  • RED 15
  • RED 15w
  • RED 50

Please ensure that you plan your replacement in advance. After the EOL date, support for these products will be removed from our software. Further details will be provided once the final supported versions are known.

 

Sophos AP Series Access Points

The EOL for the following AP Series models has been extended from March 31, 2023 to December 31, 2023:

  • AP 15/15C
  • AP 55/55C
  • AP 100/100C/100X

The current migration path is the APX Series. Please reach out to your local Sophos representative, should you need further information about the Wireless roadmap or check out important lifecycle milestone in this blog post.

 

PureMessage for Exchange

The EOL will be July 20, 2023 – there is no migration path.

 

PureMessage for Unix

The EOL will be July 20, 2023 – the migration path is Sophos Email.

 

Sophos Email Appliance

The EOL will be July 20, 2023 – the migration path is Sophos Email.

 

Endpoint Protection, Server Protection and Enterprise Console products (standalone or managed on premises)

The EOL will be July 20, 2023 – the migration path is Intercept X Advanced or Intercept X Advanced for Server

 

Sophos Mobile (managed on premises)

The EOL will be July 20, 2023 – the migration path is Sophos Mobile managed in Sophos Central.

 

SafeGuard Enterprise

The EOL will be July 20, 2023 – the migration path is Sophos Central Device Encryption.

 

Sophos MTR Network Sensor

Sophos UTM Manager

The distribution of the Sophos UTM Manager (SUM) has been stopped and the End-of-Life date for this product is on December 31, 2022. All existing licenses have been extended to December 31, 2025 and the extended license can be obtained via the myUTM Licensing Portal.  How to get an extended license (EN).
