Ensure your customers have the correct support coverage.

The following information was sent to all partners who have sold either a Sophos Switch or a Sophos Wireless AP6 Series access point on April 15, 2024.

For any customers managing Sophos Switch and the AP6 Series access points in Sophos Central, we have offered a generous grace period before integrating the full support enforcement under Sophos Central licensing.

We are now proceeding with further enforcement integration for termed support subscriptions and encourage you to review the support status of your customers to ensure that there will be no impact on their management experience.

Sophos Switch

Support enforcement in Sophos Central was started last year, and the final phase is expected to be complete later this month (April 2024).

Final Phase: Enforcement for all customers (April 2024)

  • Every Sophos Switch managed in Sophos Central must have a valid Support and Services subscription for the corresponding model and quantity.
  • If a customer is undersubscribed, a banner is shown to alert them to the issue.
  • Management in Sophos Central will not be possible for any switch without support cover.

For further information, please refer to this article on the Switch Community.

Sophos Wireless: AP6 Series

In May 2024, we are starting the phased enforcement process for AP6 Support and Services.

Phase 1: Enforcement for new AP6 customers only (May 2024)

  • For any Sophos Central account registering an AP6 access point for the first time (that does not contain any other AP6 access points), a support and services subscription will be required to use Sophos Central wireless management.
  • If the customer is undersubscribed, a banner is shown to alert them to the issue.
  • For these customers only, management in Sophos Central will not be possible for any AP6 without support cover.

No change for existing AP6 Customers

  • To allow existing customers to purchase and activate Support, Sophos will extend the grace period for existing accounts with AP6 access points registered in Sophos Central.

For further information, please refer to this article on the Wireless Community.

We strongly recommend that you sell support with every AP6 and switch that your customers plan to manage in Sophos Central, even before the enforcement is complete. A Support and Services subscription unlocks several benefits, such as Advanced RMA, and will be a prerequisite for any future features that integrate with other Sophos products.

The local management option for an individual switch/AP6 does not require a support subscription.

MSP Flex

MSP Flex monthly licensing will be available for Sophos Switch and the AP6 Series on May 14, 2024. A knowledgebase article with additional information can be found here.
