Sophos Firewall v19 MR1 Adds Support Requirement for Future Firmware Upgrades
Currently scheduled for July 19, 2022, the soft release of Sophos Firewall OS (SFOS) v19 MR1 introduces some changes to the scope of our support licensing and future access to firmware upgrades. There is no change for the approx. 80% of customers with a valid support subscription. While there is no immediate change for the remaining 20% who do not own support today, they will need to add support once they have used their three-free-upgrade allocation. Discover more
Change in Account Permissions Affecting Partner Central Firewall Management
The Sophos Central Partner Dashboard allows partners to set permissions per partner dashboard login, limiting which customer accounts these logins can interact with. Effective July 4, this restriction will be enforced on Firewall groups as it is with other global templates. Find out more

Sophos Firewall OS v18.0 (SFOS)
SFOS v18.0 is scheduled to become end-of life at the end of July 2022. This early announcement is intended to give you sufficient time to plan your upgrade to a newer version. Devices must be updated to a more recent firmware release before the EOL date. Discover more
Sophos Firewall XG 85(w), XG 105(w), and Sophos Firewall OS v17.5
As previously announced, the following products will reach their end-of-life date on August 17, 2022 and will no longer be supported: XG 85(w) hardware appliance, XG 105(w) hardware appliance and SFOS v17.5 for the before mentioned models. Learn more on migration paths
Sophos Authenticator (Android and iOS app versions)
We have announced a July 31, 2022 End-of-Life (EOL) date for both the Android and iOS app versions of this product.
Recommended alternatives:
- Intercept X for Mobile (Authenticator feature)
- Google Authenticator or other third-party authenticator apps
Sophos XG Series hardware appliances
We continue to sell any available XG Series appliance beyond the March 31, 2022 end-of-sale date. Model availability will vary by region.

- Since April 1, 2022, you can no longer sell a 3-year subscription and any term sold must not extend beyond the March 31, 2025 EOL date.
Sophos AP Series Access Points
The EOL for AP Series models is March 31, 2023.
The EOL for the following AP Series models has been extended from March 31, 2023 to December 31,2023:
- AP 15/15C
- AP 55/55C
- AP 100/100C/100X

The EOL will be July 20, 2023 – the migration path is Intercept X Advanced or Intercept X Advanced for Server
Sophos Mobile (managed on premises)
The EOL will be July 20, 2023 – the migration path is Sophos Mobile managed in Sophos Central.
SafeGuard Enterprise
The EOL will be July 20, 2023 – the migration path is Sophos Central Device Encryption.
Sophos UTM Manager
The distribution of the Sophos UTM Manager (SUM) has been stopped and the End-of-Life date for this product is on December 31, 2022. All existing licenses have been extended to December 31, 2025 and the extended license can be obtained via the myUTM Licensing Portal. How to get an extended license (EN).
